Sump Pump Replacement in Portland
Sewer Pump Installation & Repair from Dedicated Specialists
If your sewer system relies on any kind of pump system to keep wastewater flowing, eventually you will need to replace your unit. Well-maintained sump pumps can have a lifespan of 8 to 10 years with warranties for around half of their lifespan. However, a pump that gets used heavily or that has suffered some kind of damage may only last 5 years.
If your pumps are coming to the end of their lifespan and require a replacement, our team of Portland drain and sewer specialists can provide fast removal of the old unit and install a new unit in its place. Our sump pump specialists understand that a pump plays a very important role in protecting basements, rooms, and homes from flooding and water damage, so trust our specialists for sump pump replacement or installation.
Schedule service now or Call (207) 495-7793 for sump pump repair or replacement in Portland, Maine.
Signs of a Failing Sump Pump
There are a few symptoms to watch out for if you are concerned about whether your sump pump is still an effective layer of protection against flooding. Obviously, no one wants their sump pump to be unreliable during an emergency. Be on the lookout for these common signs that your sump pump is reaching the end of its life.
- Loud Noises: If the motor is beginning to whine loudly, this is likely a sign that it will not last much longer.
- Vibrations: If the unit has a damaged impeller, it will rattle and make loud noises as the fan blades attempt to empty water out of the basin.
- Clogs & Frozen Lines: Clogged discharge lines can inflict severe damage quickly by overworking the motor and potentially burning it out.
- Running Sporadically: Something may be wrong with the wiring in your unit if it is turning on and off without clear reasons. This can also indicate that your unit is too weak in terms of horsepower to empty the basin.
- Unit Is 7 Years or Older: Older sump pumps will begin to work harder to empty the basin until they are running non-stop and the motor burns out.
If you notice any of these signs, give the Zoom Drain of New England team a call. We can perform a thorough inspection to diagnose any issues and, if necessary, provide reliable, effective sump pump replacement in Portland and throughout New England.

Diagnosed problem and quickly solved it. Joe did a great job. Very transparent and upfront and does job efficient.Taylor
I hired another company to do a pre-inspection scope of my mainline sewer. The first company couldn't get the camera through what they were calling a house trap. I panicked after having seeing prior issues in friends and other places that I had owned. I called Zoom Drain and they were out same day and even fit me in a couple hours after calling [which is unheard of nowadays]. The staff in the office was amazing and they sent over a tech that had very advanced knowledge of sewer systems and quickly got to work and did a tremendously good job explaining, documenting, and recording. Got through the sewer and found a defect in the sewer. Zoom Drain quickly sent over a estimate for a repair so that I could accurately negotiate, which I was able to do well with the amazing investigative service that was done by the tech that was sent! Long story short, 2 very professional, hard working, and quality-driven install techs named Noah and Aiden came to my house to do a process that they called lining. In this stressful time these 2 guys knew what they were doing. They were obviously very well trained and did a wonderful job fixing my problem. I feel confident to inquire to all my friends that when it comes to your sewer trouble that Zoom Drain is the company to call! Thank you to the ladies in the office, the tech that came to do my sewer scope, the amazing staff that quickly drew me a estimate, and especially to Noah and Aiden for doing such a great job. I can now rest easy knowing my basement is safe! Thank you all!Rob Melanson
For the time they spent, it was reasonable. They have a lot more equipment at their disposal and work as a team! I recommend Rooter Rooter over any other company! Don't waste $$ on other companies that leave you hanging like I did! That's why I'm writing a review now. Good luck. By the way, I'm located in Lewiston, ME.Kelly D'pickles!
Evan openly communicated everything that he was doing and what he thought could be the problem. We walked through everything step-by-step together, and the whole time Evan told me what my options were and what they meant. He was very helpful in finding and fixing the problem. He was also very knowledgeable on ways to prevent the problem from reoccurring much quicker. Evan was quick to fix the issue but did not rush through his explanation of things. He was very friendly and polite. I am very happy with the visit I received today. I would recommend this company and would call again if I needed repairs in the future.pledgallegiance2no1

Rob was awesome. I had a nightmare scenario where my sewer pipe backed up into my house. Even though the job went from 01:30 to 05:00, Rob was attentive, diligent, and took the time to make sure the job was done correctly. I would highly recommend Rob and Zoom Drain to anyone.Ross Sinclair
Had an issue at one of our rentals. They were on site within an hour on a Saturday and gone in under two hours with the problem solved.Brandon Fearon
Needed a sump pump replacement, emailed Zoom Drain on Saturday and they came and did the job on Monday. Quick turn around, industry standard pricing but will offer discounts if you add on jobs (added a drain scope). Both jobs together cost $1103, sump comes with two-year service warranty. Joe Gould was the tech and he did a great job - knowledgeable, professional, and quick pump replacement. Also appreciate that this company will text you a photo and the name of your technician so you know who to expect at your door.S W
