Why Choose Us For Clogged Tubs
When you invite a company into your home to work on a clogged tub, you want a team that handles drains all day, not a general plumbing company that occasionally clears one. At Zoom Drain of Las Vegas, we focus on drain and sewer services, and that focus helps us quickly pinpoint why your tub is backing up and how to fix it efficiently.
Our technicians complete extensive drain and sewer training before they arrive at your door. They work with advanced tools that are designed for tub and bathroom lines, including professional-grade drain cables, high-pressure water jetting equipment, and video inspection cameras for deeper or recurring clogs. We use these tools carefully and select methods that fit the type of clog and the condition of your pipes.
Cost concerns are common, so we keep pricing simple and transparent. We offer flat-rate pricing, we explain the work before we start, and we answer your questions about options. There are no surprise add-on charges once your bathtub is already apart. Our warranties and ongoing support mean you are not left on your own if questions come up after the visit.
We also know your bathroom is one of the most personal spaces in your home. Our team treats it that way. We use floor protection where needed, handle equipment carefully around tubs and tile, and clean up before we leave. Because we work throughout Henderson and nearby communities, we are familiar with local home layouts, from newer subdivisions to older properties with aging drain lines. That local experience helps us anticipate common bathtub drain issues and address them efficiently.
Common Causes Of Bathtub Clogs
Understanding what is blocking your tub can make the problem feel more manageable. Most bathtub clogs start with everyday use. Hair is often the main culprit, and over time, it forms mats that catch everything else that goes down the drain. Soap scum, body oils, and residue from shampoos and conditioners stick to those hair mats and slowly narrow the opening.
Small items can add to the problem. Bits of plastic from bath toys, razor covers, or jewelry can lodge in the drain. In some homes in this part of Nevada, minerals in the water contribute to buildup along the inside of pipes. As that buildup hardens, it leaves less room for water to pass and makes new clogs form more quickly.
Sometimes, a clogged bathtub in Henderson that residents are dealing with is a sign that something is happening beyond the tub itself. Repeated clogs that return soon after you clear them, gurgling sounds in nearby sinks, or water appearing in a shower when another fixture drains can point to a deeper drain or sewer issue. In those cases, a professional evaluation is important so you are not treating only the symptom.
Some of the most common bathtub drain clog sources include:
- Hair and soap scum form dense mats just below the drain
- Body oils and bath products coat the inside of the drain line
- Small objects such as caps, bands, or toy pieces are lodged in the trap
- Mineral buildup in pipes that narrows the passage for water
- Debris caught in older or partially damaged drain lines
Knowing the likely cause helps us choose the right cleaning method and avoid unnecessary damage to your tub or piping. During our visit, we work to identify why your clog formed so we can discuss ways to reduce how often it happens in the future.
What To Do When Your Tub Is Clogged
When you first notice slow draining or standing water in the tub, a few simple steps can help protect your home and may provide short-term relief. First, avoid continuing to run the water if it is not going down. This helps reduce the risk of an overflow that can damage floors or leak into rooms below.
Next, take a look around the drain opening. If you can see hair caught at the surface, you can try gently removing it with gloved hands or a simple plastic hair removal tool. If your tub has a stopper that lifts out easily, removing it can sometimes reveal trapped debris that you can safely clear without tools.
Chemical drain cleaners might seem like a quick fix, but using them repeatedly can damage some types of pipe and fixtures, and they often do not reach clogs that sit farther down the line. Makeshift tools such as wire hangers can scratch your tub or get stuck. If basic surface cleaning or light plunging does not make a clear difference, it is safer to call a drain professional.
Here are a few safe first steps before you call our team:
- Stop running water into the tub if it is not draining normally
- Check for and gently remove visible hair or debris at the drain opening
- Try a few careful plunges with a clean plunger dedicated to bathtub use
- Avoid pouring additional chemical cleaners into a tub that is not draining
- Make a note of any gurgling sounds or backups in other fixtures
If the clog returns quickly, affects more than one bathroom, or does not respond to these simple steps, it is time to bring in help. In older Henderson homes or multi-unit buildings where drains can be connected, professional diagnosis is especially important. Our team can determine whether you are dealing with a straightforward hair clog or a sign of a bigger issue in the line.

JJ, Ashton, and Miguel were awesome! They were very friendly and professional. JJ explained what they were going to do. They worked hard to get the toilet unclogged and successfully did so. Ashton was downstairs while JJ and Miguel were upstairs. He was explaining what was going on. They completed the job and cleaned up afterwards. JJ told us about the 30-day warranty, that we should be good to go, and to call them if the issue continues (he didn’t see that happening)! Thank you!Stephanie Bugash
Technicians arrived early after first calling to see if it was ok. We discussed what the best way to clean the drain was, as the former owners of the house were pouring liquid cooking grease down the drain. I knew the drain needed to be jetted and the price of $480 was more than fair. The 2 techs were in and out in about an hour and left the area cleaner than when they came. As a former home builder, I am more than familiar with pricing and quality of work by so-called professionals. Your techs surpassed my expectations, and they were knowledgeable and also quite nice. I would only call Zoom for my plumbing needs.Allan Shendell

I used another company prior to contacting Zoom Drain. I had a clog and the previous company wasn't able to fix the problem after I spent about $500 with them. They actually wanted more money to keep testing other methods to see if they'd eventually fix it. I told them I would get a second opinion and go from there. I contacted Zoom and they came out the next day and fixed the clog for half the price in about 30 minutes or so. I wish I would have contacted them first. Lesson learned, I guess.Nathan NG
