Why Call Our Sewer Team in Las Vegas First
When sewage is backing up, you do not have time to sort through dozens of general plumbing pages. You need to know that the people you call deal with serious sewer problems regularly. At Zoom Drain of Las Vegas, much of our work involves sewer and drain issues, so our technicians arrive prepared for main line blockages and line failures.
Because we focus on sewer and drain systems, we are familiar with how older homes, newer builds, and small commercial properties in and around Las Vegas are typically piped. Our team works with the kinds of main lines, cleanouts, and yard layouts that are common here, so we can move from problem to diagnosis in a practical, efficient way.
Our goal in every emergency visit is simple. We work to stop the immediate backup, limit damage as much as possible, and restore basic drainage and toilet use as quickly as the situation allows. While every property and sewer line is different, our customers can expect clear communication from the first phone call, straightforward explanations of what we find, and a discussion of repair options before major work begins.
Many people are worried that calling for emergency sewer repair in Las Vegas automatically means a complete sewer line replacement. That is not always the case. By focusing on inspection and accurate diagnosis first, we look for the source of the problem and review different approaches whenever the situation allows for choice.
What To Do During A Sewer Backup
When sewage appears where it should not, safety and damage control come before anything else. Raw wastewater can carry bacteria and other contaminants, so limiting contact and keeping vulnerable people away from the affected area matters. Simple steps taken early can help protect your property while you wait for professional help.
If it is safe to stay in the home or building, try to keep everyone, including pets, out of the area where waste is visible. Avoid walking through the water, since this can spread contamination to clean rooms. If possible, close doors to the affected spaces and place towels or other barriers at thresholds to slow the spread of water, then wash or dispose of those items carefully later.
In many cases, the fastest way to prevent a backup from getting worse is to stop sending more water into the system. That can mean avoiding showers, laundry, dishwashers, and repeated flushing until a technician has looked at the main line. If you are able to identify a main cleanout outside and see water flowing from it, mention that when you call, but do not remove caps or fittings unless a professional has advised you to do so.
Before you call, it can help to note a few details, such as which fixtures are affected, how long the problem has been happening, and whether this has occurred before. Sharing this information with our team helps us understand whether you are likely dealing with a main line issue or an isolated fixture problem. If you are experiencing a severe or repeated emergency sewer backup in Las Vegas, contact (702) 710-6969 and let our team know you are dealing with an active backup.
Common Emergency Sewer Problems
When everything in the home is connected to the same main sewer pipe, a problem in that line can show up in many different ways. Understanding the general types of issues that lead to emergencies can make our inspection process easier to follow once we arrive.
One frequent cause of emergencies is a major blockage in the main sewer line. This can build up over time from a mix of grease, wipes, debris, and other materials, or it can form quickly after a single heavy event. Unlike a simple sink clog, a main line blockage often shows up as backups or slow drains in several fixtures at once, especially at the lowest points of the property.
Another serious issue involves damaged or misaligned pipes. Underground sewer lines can crack, shift, or partially collapse due to age, soil movement, or poor original installation. When this happens, waste may catch on rough edges, leading to repeated clogs and backups. In some cases, leaks can allow wastewater to escape into the surrounding soil, which may create soft or wet spots in a yard or strong odors outside.
Tree root intrusion is also a common factor, particularly where older clay or cast iron pipes are present. Roots naturally seek out moisture and can enter through small gaps at joints or cracks. Once inside, they tend to spread along the length of the pipe, catching debris and eventually closing off much of the flow. Our technicians often use inspection cameras to confirm whether roots are present and how extensive they have become.
Over time, aging pipe materials can lose strength and become more prone to cracks, separations, and other failures. Homes and small businesses in areas of Las Vegas with older infrastructure sometimes face repeated sewer problems that trace back to worn-out lines. In any of these situations, a proper inspection is essential. Our team uses appropriate tools to look inside the line and identify whether you are facing a blockage that can be cleared, localized damage that can be repaired, or a larger section of pipe that needs more attention.
How Our Team Handles Emergencies
When you call Zoom Drain of Las Vegas about a serious sewer issue, our goal is to gather the right information quickly so we can respond appropriately. During the first conversation, our team asks focused questions about what you are seeing, how long it has been happening, and what parts of the property are affected. This helps us confirm that you are dealing with a sewer emergency and plan the visit efficiently.
Once our technicians arrive, they typically begin with a visual check of the problem areas and accessible plumbing fixtures. If there is a suitable access point, such as a cleanout, we often use a camera inspection to see what is happening inside the sewer line. In some cases, we may also use locating equipment to determine where underground issues, such as cracks or root intrusions, are likely to be.
After we have enough information to understand the situation, we pause to explain what we have found in clear, everyday language. We describe the likely cause of the backup, show evidence such as camera images when applicable, and review possible ways to move forward. Before we begin significant work, we talk through the pros and cons of different options and what they may mean for cost, time frame, and disruption.
Depending on the problem, an emergency visit might involve clearing a severe blockage, cutting roots from inside the pipe, or isolating a damaged section so that it can be repaired. Our focus is to restore basic function as soon as it is safe and practical to do so. When a larger repair or replacement is needed, we discuss that with you separately and explain what the work would involve.
Throughout the visit, we try to respect your property and keep you informed. That includes working carefully around finished areas, flooring, and landscaping whenever the situation permits, and offering guidance on cleanup steps once the immediate emergency is under control. Our team wants you to feel that you understand what happened, what we did, and what to watch for in the future.

Great job—showed up and handled it! Wasn’t easy, but mission accomplished 🤘🏻Troy Burgess (Founder, iDdb LLC)
I used another company prior to contacting Zoom Drain. I had a clog and the previous company wasn't able to fix the problem after I spent about $500 with them. They actually wanted more money to keep testing other methods to see if they'd eventually fix it. I told them I would get a second opinion and go from there. I contacted Zoom and they came out the next day and fixed the clog for half the price in about 30 minutes or so. I wish I would have contacted them first. Lesson learned, I guess.Nathan NG
I had a shower that wasn’t draining at all. I scheduled an appointment through the phone, which was super easy, and they even had a same-day appointment available! The guys were punctual, wore shoe covers, and explained the costs up front. I was a little shocked to hear the sound of a drain being cleared - it sounded like my bathroom was being demo’d! (I just didn’t know what it would take to clear the shower of two teenagers). They cleared the shower and the two drains in about 1/2 an hour. Great work!Katie Horn
Just before Thanksgiving we had a major plumbing issue, got quotes from multiple companies. Zoom Drain came and gave us options and worked with us. While talking to JJ and Jack you could see they really cared and wanted to help and tackle the problem. They were able to fix our issue very quickly even with the holidays! They are amazing and would very highly recommend them to anyone!Cody Stewart
Showed up and got the problem fixed a short time later, which made me very happy!Tailor Krater

Amazing customer service from technicians that came to check out my shower drain. Super respectful and professional. I can comfortably say I’ll be reaching out again if I ever need plumbing professionals.Snezana Lazic
Great customer service. Cleaned up when they finished. Described all work being done.Shawna McIntire
JJ, Ashton, Max was the trio that came out to help clear out a sink clogged that was clearly stopped by large amounts of years of grease buildup. Showed up on time, straightforward pricing that was $1,000 less than the original plumber, which was a total scam through my 'warranty.' They had a huge truck with everything they needed. They did a hydro jet to clear everything, then camera to see if it was perfect. Noticed some hard grease was still there, so they had to pull out the chain that chopped it up, then camera and water to show everything was flowing perfectly. Can say enough good things. Hard to find trustworthy companies these days, but I did.William Petz
Super responsive on a Saturday night to schedule service on Sunday morning. I’m sure I paid a small premium for emergency service, but it was not an easy job and I needed it done before Monday. I will definitely use them again and am completely satisfied with my whole transaction.Gano Wetherby
Great service all around! Fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!Paul Partida
