Why Planned Drain Care Matters
Most drain problems do not appear overnight. Grease, soap, food particles, wipes, and other debris gradually coat pipe walls. Tree roots can push into older sewer lines. Small defects can collect debris and slowly create stubborn blockages. Without regular attention, these issues often lead to sudden clogs, sewage backups, or even pipe damage.
In many Montgomery County neighborhoods, mature trees and aging underground lines increase the chance of root intrusion and wear in sewer laterals. Busy commercial corridors with restaurants, grocery stores, and other food service businesses put a heavy load on kitchen and main lines. When these systems are not maintained, property owners can face unpleasant odors, recurring clogs, and potential health concerns.
Planned drain care helps you avoid those emergencies. Routine cleaning and inspection can clear buildup before it hardens, remove early root growth, and reveal cracks or low spots before they cause a major blockage. For commercial properties, a regular maintenance schedule can support health code compliance and reduce downtime, which protects revenue and reputation.
Our Drain Inspection Process
Accurate information about the inside of your pipes is the foundation of effective maintenance. Rather than guessing where a clog might be, we use high-definition video technology to see what is actually happening throughout the drain and sewer system. This approach helps us focus our cleaning efforts and recommend practical maintenance steps.
During an inspection, our technician feeds a flexible camera line into your pipes through an existing access point. As the camera moves through the system, we can see live images of pipe walls, joints, and any obstructions. This view lets us spot buildup, scale, cracks, root intrusion, and other issues that simple surface checks cannot reveal.
A professional video inspection can help you decide when to act:
- Recurring clogs: If the same drain backs up repeatedly, a camera inspection can confirm whether there is a deeper issue in the main line.
- Older properties: If you own or manage an older building, inspections help you monitor the condition of aging lines.
- Property transitions: If you are buying, selling, or renovating, inspection footage can document system health for future planning.
After the inspection, we review what we found in clear, simple terms. Our team walks you through any recorded images, explains what types of buildup or damage are present, and discusses whether a focused cleaning, more frequent maintenance, or further evaluation could be helpful. This process gives you a clearer picture of your system so you can make informed decisions.

Conor performed a sewer lateral inspection on a home I am in the process of purchasing! He was punctual, friendly, communicative, and left the bathroom clean and organized the way he found it. He was kind enough to explain to me and the seller of the home exactly what he was doing and what the inspection revealed. I also have to give a shoutout to the schedulers and those operating the phones at Zoom Drains. I communicated mostly with Lacey; she was wonderful! She helped me get this appointment scheduled the same day and promptly delivered a certificate of insurance required by the sellers of the home. It was a great experience all around during the stressful time of home inspections!Chloe Kund
Jamir did an excellent job. He was knowledgeable and thorough. Diagnosed it and fixed it immediately. He went above and beyond.Craig Madrak
Zoom came quickly after my phone call. Ryan was very polite and tried to explain the situation to me. Unfortunately, due to tree roots, the job couldn’t be completed. Ryan scheduled the next appointment for me immediately, which I appreciated.Angie Ganser
Anthony was on time, called to alert that he would be at our house in five minutes, was professional, kind, a great worker, explained everything before, during, and after he repaired the problem. Zoom is lucky to have him as an employee. Would use the same services again as long as Anthony could do the work. We will spread the word for Zoom.mark
Ryan was the best. Straightforward, no BS. Got the job done, tested everything, and followed up with a permanent fix option for the problem as well.John

Jeff and James are professional, approachable, and efficient! Will definitely recommend them to any plumbing needs.Trista Wang
Danny is a real pro with the right equipment. I had a 200’ sump drain line that was clogged. He cleared the clog, photographed the location of root incursion from inside the pipe, and marked the location with flags in my yard so I could make repairs. Total time was about 90 mins. It’s pricey, but there is literally no other way to find the root cause (no pun intended) and make the fix. Thanks, Danny!Jeffrey Rapp
In those moments you don't know who to call and who can be responsive in an extremely timely manner, Zoom Drain is the call.Matt Bevacqua
