Why Local Clogged Drain Help Matters
A slow or completely blocked drain is more than a small annoyance. Standing water can stain fixtures, damage cabinets or flooring, and create conditions that are not sanitary. When the clog is in a main line, you may see backups in lower-level tubs, showers, or floor drains, which can spread water into finished spaces.
Many people worry that a simple clog might actually be a serious sewer issue that will be expensive to address. That concern is understandable, and it is one reason having an experienced, locally based team matters. Our drain plumbers know how to sort out routine hair or grease clogs from signs of a deeper problem, and we explain what we find in plain language.
Homes in Tigard include older neighborhoods with aging drain lines, as well as areas with long tree-lined streets. Tree roots, shifting soil, and years of use can all affect underground pipes. Because our team works here every day, we are familiar with these patterns and factor them into how we investigate your clogged drain in Tigard that homeowners often face during rainy seasons or heavy use.
When you call Zoom Drain of Portland, you reach a company that focuses on drains, not a general handyman service. Our goal is to arrive within a reasonable window, protect your home while we work, and leave you with a drain that is flowing again whenever conditions allow for clearing.
Our Process For Clearing Your Drain
Knowing what to expect can make a stressful situation feel more manageable. When you contact our office, our team asks a few practical questions about what you are seeing. We might ask which fixtures are affected, how long the problem has been happening, and whether you notice any gurgling or strong odors in other parts of the home. This helps us plan the visit and bring appropriate equipment.
Once your appointment is set, we provide an arrival window and keep you informed if schedules change. When our technician gets to your home, they introduce themselves, look at the affected fixtures, and take steps to protect nearby floors or surfaces. In many cases, this includes using drop cloths or similar protection so our tools and hoses do not contact your flooring.
After a visual check, we work to locate where the clog is likely sitting. For a single sink, the blockage might be close to the fixture. For multiple affected drains, it might be further down the line. Depending on access, our technician may use a drain cable to break up and remove the obstruction. For more complex or recurring problems, we may recommend a camera inspection so you can see the inside of the line and better understand the condition of your pipes.
Throughout the visit, our team explains what we are doing and why. Before moving from a basic clearing to additional work, we talk with you about what we have found, what options you have, and how each choice could affect cost and timing. When the clog is cleared, we test the affected fixtures, check for proper flow, and clean up the work area so your home is left as orderly as possible.
While you wait for service, simple steps can limit damage:
- Avoid running water into any fixture that is already backing up.
- Do not use chemical drain cleaners, which can damage pipes and create hazards.
- Move items away from the area around the clog in case of minor spills.
- If water is close to electrical outlets or appliances, keep clear and mention this when you call.

Fabulous customer service, great problem solving, and a wonderful rep that did work. Knowledgeable, personable, and efficient. Well done! A++ George Fay Lake Oswego, ORGeorge Fay
Dan is a competent and friendly guy! We have a 1920 farmhouse with an addition on it from the 1950’s. We were having problems with the drainage and couldn’t figure out why and the layout of the pipes. Dan got on the roof and put a scope down the vents, and could tell us where the blockage is and what the risks were of blasting water in there vs. digging trenches to unclog. We really appreciate him being so knowledgeable about drainage systems. We’ll be using him for our farm on this project and more. Great guy.Connie Vancil
They were quick to call back after hours and scheduled as soon as the next day. Pricing was affordable and communication was great. They fixed our problem and the sink has been working great since! Thank you! Highly recommended!Patty Barrington
My kitchen sink was seriously clogged, and all attempts on my part to find and/or clear the problem were unsuccessful. I called Zoom Drain on a Saturday evening and made an appointment for Sunday morning (no additional weekend charge - bonus!). Dan arrived on time, had the problem fixed in under an hour, gave me some tips on how to avoid having this happen again, and was very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. If I could give him 10 stars, I would - yes, he was that good!Holly Bailey
I was expecting a week wait and over a thousand dollar visit given a previous plumbing experience. Zoom came out in an hour and had the problem fixed in another half hour. Only charged $350. I think the guy's name was Dan? Strongly recommend this company.Gregory Meyer
I had some draining issues, and these guys were there within a few hours and did a great job with reasonable prices. This is the second time I have used Zoom Drain for different issues since it’s an older place built in 1960.hung nguyen
Dan was a very personable person. He let me know exactly what was going on. I was sure I was going to have to tear up my basement to fix the problem. Some day soon I may need to get a new line to the street. However, for now I have clear drainage.Peggy Morgan
Phil and Alfonso were amazing. They were swift, professional, and extremely informative. Super grateful!Khadija Jones
Dan was amazing! He was so nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would have him come back in a heartbeat.lissa Soler
These guys nail it! As a professional service provider myself, I love working alongside Phil, Landon, Dan, Alfonso, and the whole team. These guys come out and get it done consistently, and I’m going to continue using them for years to come!Kyle Bussard
Your people were quick to respond and completed the job efficiently. They were friendly and thorough.Leland Hunefeld
Great service on an extremely clogged kitchen drain. Caiden came out the day I called, assessed the clog, gave me options—lowest cost to highest cost, explained the pros and cons of each option, and performed the service that same day. I appreciated how hard Caiden worked to clear the difficult clog. Overall it was an excellent experience. Pricing seemed reasonable, no sales pressure from Caiden, and I really liked that there was no fee for him to just come out and assess.Doug and Jan Dauntless
Dan and the Zoom Drain crew did a great job. Was having an outside drain issue with my downspouts that was backing up and flooding into our crawl space. They came out on Sunday night and we set up a plan for Monday. A few hours in, my drains were cleared out and we were able to mark them out, so I know where my system is running. Dan was great to chat with and knows his stuff.Justin Hoeckle
Dan Nelson came and worked on a problem drain for me and was friendly, on time, very knowledgeable, did excellent work and cleaned up after himself. I would have given Zoom five stars but unfortunately, snaking then hydro jetting the drain did not work. The building is old, and the old drain was plumbed in a manner that will not allow modern snakes or hydro jets to access the clogged area. Because he couldn't clear the drain, he did the work for half price, which was little more than what a lot of plumbers charge for just showing up. He also recommended a plumber who can re-plumb the drain, which saved me the trouble of finding another plumber. I will definitely use Zoom Drain in the future.John Hinds
Alfonso very personable, tidy, and checked my other toilet and adjusted the water flow.Sue Barker
Dan was excellent at his job. Everyone was friendly. I got to talk to a real person on the phone, and they were local. They came right out and fixed my problems. I would use them again.Dan Wilcox
