Meet Steve Spensley: Entrepreneur, Veteran and Customer Service Leader

With more than 25 years of experience in service-based industries, Steve Spensley brings a powerhouse combination of leadership, business strategy, and customer-first thinking to Zoom Drain Birmingham. His journey began as a Royal Artillery Officer in the UK military, followed by earning a BSc in Communications and Media from Loughborough University—where he also played collegiate rugby.

After serving in complex global environments throughout Africa and the Middle East in private security, Steve founded Ursa Group, a risk management firm that grew into a global operation. In 2018, he pivoted to logistics, building a successful Amazon Delivery Service Partner business—delivering nearly 15 million packages and managing close to 80,000 delivery routes. He also leads Vulcan Last Mile Solutions, a fleet support and services company, and remains a recognized Amazon Pinnacle Partner—a distinction held by fewer than 10% of DSPs.

“My experience in the services space—managing resources and people, growing businesses, and building long-term customer relationships—will be a real advantage in growing Zoom Drain in Birmingham” Steve said.

Strong Ties to the Birmingham Community

Though originally from the UK, Steve has called Alabama home for nearly 20 years. He and his wife, a Birmingham native, have raised their family in the Dunnavant Valley near Mt Laurel, building a life deeply connected to the local community.

In his free time, Steve enjoys RV'ing, hiking, biking, and spending quality time with his family. He’s also passionate about community engagement and finding ways to give back.
