Meet Sean and Amy Hunt: Your Local Business Owners

Zoom Drain of Orange County is owned by Sean and Amy Hunt, a couple who has been married for 16 years. Sean met Amy while in Puerto Rico while they were both serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy, each in the medical field and working at a Naval hospital. When Amy received orders to head to Newport, Rhode Island, she asked Sean to help her sail her sailboat up the Atlantic.

Sean left active duty in 2001, working various jobs, from boat builder and general contractor to phlebotomist. Amy has stayed in active duty as a career Naval officer, being assigned across multiple tours, including stations on an aircraft carrier, in the Pentagon, and with the Navy SEALs.

Both natives to Southern California, Sean and Amy returned to Orange County to reignite Sean’s love of entrepreneurial efforts. He read “The 7 Power Contractor” by Al Levi, the founder of the Zoom Drain franchise, and knew he wanted to be a part of the Zoom Drain family, too. In particular, he was drawn to our in-depth support for franchise owners, backed by comprehensive organizational tools, such as our operational systems and customer relationship management system.

Today, the Hunt’s take pride in being the heart and soul of Zoom Drain of Orange County. Under their guidance and discipline, which was refined through their military service, our team is always poised to deliver fast, focused, and top-quality results for our customers. We are truly committed to securing 100% customer satisfaction, and we think it shows in everything we do. After all, our business is as much a part of our community as we are.

When Sean and Amy have some spare time, they sometimes sail on their friends’ sailboats. Sean loves to golf, even competing on the Golf Channel AM Tour. Amy unwinds with yoga, reading, and wine tasting.

They were our 4th plumbers called to discern a plumbing issue. Miguel listened to our story and diagnosed the problem. He hydro jetted from a clean-out that a previous plumber did not even look for! After doing his work with a camera inside the drain pipe, he declared, clean! Follow-up water proved it clear. He was professional, informed, and tidy. Just wish we had made his call on our first try… 2 months and many headaches ago.

My kitchen disposal backed up, so I tried to plunge it but ended up backing up the laundry room sink. Of course, this happened at 9:30 at night. Zoom Drain was responsive and got someone scheduled to come right after texting them at 8:30 a.m. Jorge was awesome clearing the pipe and explaining what he was doing.

Miguel came on Monday and spent 2-3 hours snaking my kitchen sink without success. He returned with Jorge on Tuesday to water blast it. They worked hard and eventually unclogged it. They discovered the cause was coconut oil which hardens in drains. I never used coconut oil but a woman who lived with me during Covid did. They could see with their camera that the sides of the pipe were still coated with gunk, so they put something down the sink to clean the pipe completely and they were successful. Miguel and Jorge were diligent in their task, they were respectful of my property and cleaned up completely after they were done. I highly recommend Zoom Drains of Orange County.

Called Zoom Drain after our recent heavy rains. (I had used them 2 1/2 years ago.) We had flooding in our backyard due to roots and dirt in our landscape drains. (I attempted to use our garden hose with a jet nozzle to no avail, only to just get very muddy.) They came out within two days after calling them, called prior to arriving and arrived on time. The tech, Miguel, was extremely professional and thorough. Explained the process and cost. He used a hydro jet hose that was able to break through the roots and flush out dirt. He even went above and beyond and used a hand drill rooter in areas that were difficult to access. He did an excellent job. I was so excited that evening when it started to rain again; there was no pooling on our patio, and the drains were flowing perfectly. Very happy customer.
