Septic Tank Services We Offer in Springfield
How does Zoom Drain of Delaware County handle septic tanks and cesspools?
Our trucks can remove up to 2,000 gallons of seepage from hard-to-reach tanks and vacuum up to 300 feet away. Thanks to Zoom Drain's efficient and high-quality service, they come equipped with water jets that leave the inside spotless and free of debris after pumping. Additionally, we clean the inlets and outlets of the tank to ensure easy flow. Zoom Drain of Delaware County also offers enzyme additives to keep your septic tank functioning properly between cleanings.
You should hire a professional to empty your septic tank. You deserve experts. Before sending our technicians to you, we thoroughly screen and background-check them. We also offer expert septic tank cleaning services at our in-house training center.
Here is what you can expect when you choose us for septic tank services:
- Thorough system inspection: We visually inspect accessible components, check liquid levels, and look for signs of leaks or damage before we begin any septic tank service work.
- Powerful pumping equipment: Our trucks are equipped to handle large volumes of waste and long hose runs, which is helpful for homes set back from the road or on larger Springfield-area lots.
- Detailed post-service guidance: After the visit, we review what we found, discuss any concerns, and offer practical tips to keep your septic system running smoothly between appointments.
Septic Tank Pumping
Septic tank pumping involves emptying your septic tank of solid waste and sludge that have accumulated over time. You need this service to prevent your septic tank from overflowing, which can cause costly repairs and health hazards. Septic tanks should be pumped every two to three years or when 30% full. It is important to note that the frequency of pumping depends on several factors, including the number of people in the household and the size of the tank. Pumping your septic tank seamlessly is the responsibility of professional septic tank service providers.
If you are unsure when your last pumping was done, we can help you determine a safe timeline based on your water usage, number of occupants, and any changes to your home or business. During a visit, we can also show you where your tank and lids are located so future access is easier and does not disturb landscaping or hardscaping. Planning for regular septic tank pumping can reduce the risk of backups into showers, basements, or yard areas.
When planning your next septic tank pumping visit, keep these points in mind:
- Household water use: Larger families or properties with high water use, such as frequent laundry or guests, may need more frequent pumping to protect the system.
- Garbage disposal habits: Grinding food waste sends more solids into the tank, which can shorten the time between pumping appointments and increase wear on your system.
- Local property conditions: Soil type, slope, and drainage on your Springfield property can influence how well your drain field disperses water, which affects how your system performs over time.
Septic Tank Cleaning
Another essential service to ensure the health of your septic system is septic tank cleaning. Unlike septic tank pumping, septic tank cleaning involves removing all liquid and solid waste from the tank, cleaning the walls, and checking for any damage. In order for a septic tank to function properly, it must be cleaned when sludge and solid waste accumulate. Blockages, clogs, and leaks can result in costly repairs if septic tanks are not cleaned regularly. A professional septic tank cleaner uses high-pressure water jets, vacuums, and other specialized tools to clean your tank.
During a detailed cleaning visit, we can also look for warning signs such as root intrusion, corrosion around baffles, or signs that the drain field is struggling to keep up. When we notice these issues early, you have more options to address them before they lead to surface pooling or strong odors on your property. Many homeowners choose to coordinate septic tank cleaning with other routine maintenance, so disruption is limited to one scheduled visit.
Regular septic tank cleaning offers several important benefits:

Very timely response, and Tony explained what he was doing and also a good summary when he finished.Sharon Parker
Antonio was excellent. He professionally cleaned out our French drain from roots and debris. He also located cracks in the pipe that will need to be replaced. The drain flows freely now, and we do not expect any more problems with water in our basement thanks to his excellent work.Michael DiPaolo

This is the third time we have used Zoom Drain to resolve a clogged pipe. Angel arrived during the scheduled time and explained everything before starting. We are happy to have working plumbing again before the holiday weekend.Kevin Norfleet
I couldn't be happier with MJ or his service. I was told by a different service that the sewer pipe was broken in the yard after a few hours of work and it would require digging up the yard to fix/replace it... very costly. Wanting a second opinion/confirmation, I called Zoom and a few hours later MJ arrived. I told him what was going on, what work had been done and what I had been told. He listened, asked a few questions and told me the clog was probably after the trap under the street and not a broken pipe. About 45 minutes later, after some camera work and high-pressure jet cleaning, the clog was gone and pipes clear at extremely significantly less cost than digging up the yard. MJ was very professional, listened, explained everything clearly and obviously knew what he was doing. Will immediately contact Zoom again should the need arise with confidence the job will get done.John H
Cody came out in bad weather to open up a clogged landscape drain. He explained the process and got the drain running again. I’d highly recommend Cody and this Zoom Drain’s excellent service.Sara Matthews
